Client Profile

Our client is a large Indian IT Services company with a global presence and best-in-class delivery centers in India and abroad. With around 11K+ employees, it mainly operates in the areas of banking, insurance, financial and manufacturing services, and media and healthcare industry.

Business Challenge

  • The client was facing issues with keeping the delivery of onboarding process consistent and standardized as there were a lot of new hires joining at various locations in India and abroad

  • Management of new hires was proving to be a challenge since a large number of millennial IT workers were joining the client company every fortnight in batches after undergoing a 5 day F2F onboarding process

  • The existing 5 day F2F onboarding process was ineffective and time consuming so the time spent in onboarding had to be reduced to a great extent

  • There was also a need to automate the onboarding process in the shortest and most effective way possible so that it would not consume the bandwidth of the HR team in a repetitive F2F onboarding process

Solution Designed

  • A mobile compatible self-paced gamified eLearning onboarding course for new hires was successfully designed to make learning fun and exciting

  • An adventurous mountain trail journey based eLearning course was proposed to keep millennial new hires engaged and improve course completion rates

  • The 5 day F2F onboarding program was converted into a much smaller 3 hour eLearning course chunks so that learning became digestible and less overwhelming

  • The 3 hour eLearning course was shared with new hires 10 days before the joining so that they were well informed to become client company brand ambassadors on the date of joining

  • An assessment with 80% passing marks and certification generation upon course completion was set which had to be shown by new hires on the day of joining, which in turn helped build learner motivation and evaluate learner progress efficiently

Business Impact

  • The time spent in the onboarding training was reduced by an impressive 95%

  • The course was well received by new hires globally as it made learning more engaging, interactive, and enjoyable

  • The course helped the company build a culture of online learning and loyalty in new hires from the first day itself

  • The course helped to increase new hire confidence, familiarity with company policies and insights into their new job roles

  • There was a reduction in the uncertainty and low morale that new hires felt when they're not properly supported in their first days and weeks

  • New hire productivity was improved which helped career driven millennials become successful early in their careers with the client company
