Client Profile

Our client is an Indian multinational computer hardware manufacturing and distribution company employing more than 8000 employees. It is also among the top 20 largest publicly-traded companies in India.

Business Challenge

  • With a newly developed self-evaluation/assessment portal to monitor and improve employee performance, the client was apprehensive about its implementation across its 8000+ employees

  • The client was concerned about the implementation of the portal as it was a new evaluation method that required employees to log in and assess themselves on various set parameters of their work performance and output on a weekly basis

  • There was a significant change in the appraisal system from annual to weekly which had to be done by employees themselves and had to be executed properly in the new portal

  • Since the self-appraisal system changed from annual to weekly, there was a fear of resistance from employees who may not feel comfortable with being monitored every week

  • Lastly, it had to be ensured that the 8000+ employees positively accepted the new portal as many employees were skeptical about the effectiveness of the portal

Solution Designed

  • The impact of the change the portal would bring in the evaluation of each employee was analyzed thoroughly so that the training could be done accordingly

  • All employee concerns and queries about the change in the portal were identified and listed down with each employee's concern explained effectively in the form of scenarios to ensure that the training answered all possible employee questions

  • An online video was developed to explain the features and benefits of using the portal with the training being made in a story+scenario-based format to excite and engage the employees and to make them understand its usefulness to them for their long term growth

  • The online video was deployed on the client's intranet so employees could easily view the video and have all their doubts cleared about the portal

Business Impact

  • The employees were able to understand the benefit of the portal and how it would be helpful to them in their long term career growth

  • The video cleared most of the doubts and apprehensions employees had about the portal and helped to remove their fear of resistance to the new portal

  • The portal received positive acceptance from the company employees and its implementation was a huge success

  • The company was able to track and monitor employee performance weekly in a very detailed and efficient manner
