Client Profile

Our client is a large premium Indian Healthcare Insurance provider spread all across India. With about 2000+ employees, the client offers products in categories such as health insurance, international travel insurance, personal accident, critical illness, and more. In 2019, it was also awarded the title of "Health Insurance provider of the year 2019" by Outlook Money.

Business Challenge

  • The client was in a demanding position where it had to continuously onboard a large frontline field workforce and face very high attrition rates at the same time

  • A lot of resources, HR manpower, money, and logistic efforts were being spent on onboarding every year using the traditional classroom training

  • The frontline workforce of 12th pass and graduates that the client hired were quick to quit and switch jobs causing the client to go through the tedious onboarding cycle again

Solution Designed

  • A self paced eLearning onboarding course of 1.5 hours duration for new hires was designed to make the onboarding process easier and hassle free when hiring a large number of frontline workers

  • Anytime anywhere learning without laptops was made possible with mobile phone compatibility in the eLearning course so that the busy frontline workers were able to access learning content whenever they needed in the field

  • Fun and engaging learning experience with Mario game themed onboarding course so that the frontline workers remained motivated and stay for a long time with the client company

Business Impact

  • The course was very well received by the client company's frontline workforce with the gamified style of eLearning getting them started on the right foot

  • The course met its main goal of being a fun and engaging way for new hires to start their journey with the client company

  • The onboarding process became much structured, faster and effective with a decrease in the amount of paperwork and resources needed

  • The highly engaging eLearning experience due to gamification led to a significant reduction in the attrition rate

  • The new hires got better at retaining what they learnt and acquiring the skills, knowledge and behaviors to become more productive

  • The course was such a big success that after the client company's acquisition by a bigger insurance company, a similar styled course was requested by them for their own onboarding course
